About Me

Cinematographer. Filmmaker. Storyteller.

I have always been drawn to art. As a boy I carried a pencil and a notebook, drawing all that was around me. As I grew,  I learned the basic principles of creating a piece of art: color, contrast, composition, and framing. When I acquired my first camera at the age of thirteen, I took what I learned from my art classes and used it in my photography.

Photography was my next step in the visual arts, and after a few years of taking photographs and learning to capture things around me in interesting and beautiful ways, I discovered that my camera could record video. This opened the door to a whole new world.

As a teenager and young adult, I grew my videography skills. I constantly challenged myself in visual storytelling. I started freelance work when I was eighteen and began what is now Dylan Stockstill Media Production. I furthered my knowledge and craft at the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a Bachelor's degree in Film in 2022.

My wife, Dara, and I now reside in Laurel, MS in our tiny house with our three pets: Hambone, Oolong, and Earl Grey.
